Thanks to this dude and dudette over here, we are now available in Baystreet Paceville. Not to sound cheesy or biased, but I really think its one of the coolest shops on the rock. It’s called Riot, and is owned by non Maltesers Aki & Zoe, whom we thank from the bottom of our fat, golden heart. It’s a relatively new streetwear shop/cafe that stocks cool brands like Vans, Dickies, Electric, Stüssy and some custom clothing designed by Zoe. You’ll also be seeing a lot of Aki here too in the coming month. Go there, have a coffee or Corona and browse through the cool tees and caps.
Respect.

Ever had that one song you just stick on repeat and listen to it for 26 hours non stop? This has got to be mine. It’s the soundtrack of the new comedy ‘How to Make it in America’ and its by Aloe Blacc, such a humble track called ‘I need a dollar’. Love it. Kid Cudi and Brian Greenburg are the main guys in the series… Looks like its a good one.

A friend of mine, Hutch has this cool online magazine called Platinum Love, an art and culture zine, which looks pretty hot if you ask me. He asked me to do a collabo with him: he shoots the pics, I illustrate over them. This is what we came up with. You can see the unedited shots over at Platinum Love’s site. I got to use my brand new Wacom tablet too, still getting used to it but we’ll get there eventually.

Have a look at the brand spanking new video of Dolls for Idols, an electro/indie group from the tiny rock. Loving this vid, produced by the guys from No Sweat, Daniel and Nick. Big up. Videos of independent bands are looking slicker by the minute thanks to these guys, so respect and keep on doing what you do best.

Rememeber the Wizard, a close friend of ours? He gave us this wicked mixtape for FG, and I can’t stop hearing it. This is the first mixtape for 2010 entitled ‘The Noisemakers No.1.’ Head over to the mixtape page, and get it for free. What more do you want? Turn it up to 11 and let the neighbours hear a bit of it, they’ll love you for it.

What a couple of hectic days we had. It was well worth it though. We met some cool people on the way, chatted to some potential stockists from around the world, had our pictures taken for Esquire (hope they get published) and chatted to a couple of good fashion blogs. All in all, it was a good experience, although it felt like one big day where you only get to sleep 4 hours and make the most of the trip.

These were our neighbours, Kalman and Sharleen, brother and sister. Kalman flew all the way from New Zealand to be here. These kiwis are all over the place. Really cool stuff over at Kalman Lee, check them out.

Opposite us was Binz with his awesome brand Villanous Visard. I swear we were brothers in another life. Lovin this brand, watch out for it. Might see a collabo some time soon too.

Another brand that sticks out from all the rest and has been getting lots of attention is Lazy Oaf. What a wicked brand. They gave us some great advice and told us to hang in there… They have been on the scene for 8 years. 8 years! It seems that all the hard work payed off. If you’re in london, go and say hello over at Carnaby Street and show the love.

We just landed in Gatwick. After four hours or so of travelling we made our way to Margin to set up everything there for the show.

These were some artworks hanging in the Magazine Lounge, pretty neat if you ask me.

After blue tacking the hell out of our posters, we then made our way to Bernard’s awesome flat in the East end – a converted warehouse where they shot the second series of Dragon’s Den. Nice.

Being in Brick Lane it was impossible not to go out and have a pint, even though we were shattered. There’s no better place than the Big Chill on a Friday night. The music was so good we didnt want to leave. Funk, funk, funk all the way.

Sadly, it was time to make a move and go to rest a bit for Margin.
