Whoever knows me, knows I’ve loved skins since the dawn of time. Okay maybe not. But I have been following it for its entire lifetime. Well the good news is that E4 have confirmed a movie spin-off of the series about 3 weeks ago. Whether the original, the second generation or both, even at all, will feature has been left a mystery. (I would personally love the original cast)
MTV have also taken it into their hands to turn the Skins Phenomenon into an American Series (my excitement surrounding this issue has been left undecided)
Also the original British series is being filmed and set to be released early 2010.
Basically, there is a bright, uv coloured future for Skins ahead… and I’m loving it.
P.S If you haven’t had to chance to get into it, everyone is welcome to a DVD night at mine to watch them.
Take some time out from your busy day browsing the internet, and take a look at this. Daniel Franke from wearechopchop.com uploaded this to Vimeo. They are a “small community of designers, motiongraphers, video and media artists working, exploring and playing in the field of visual culture production“. He’s now in my favourites list.
There’s nothing like a good ol’party like this one.
Thanks Microsoft for showing us how to get down and hip.
The ‘disable comments’ button in You Tube wasn’t a bad idea if you ask me.
So we went off to London for a couple of days for some inspiration, being fashion week and all, we came back with a handful of ideas and a couple of kilos heavier. I also saw a couple of ‘To Let’ signs on Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, which I never really had seen before this Recession… Then again I never saw American Apparel in Oxford Circus, somebody made it big…
Here are some terrible snapshots that i took with my phone. God bless wifi and the apple store.
I also came across this DVD, which I really never thought it existed. You tube it, very disturbing if you ask me.
Here’s a snippet. WARNING: This is not for the faint hearted.
It’s come to my attention that a group I really like are rather unknown. They’re called M83 and I found out about them sometime last year before summer started. Anyhoozle. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs called ‘Run into Flowers’;
Another two of these bands which not too many people know about (and if there were any justice in this world everyone would know about) are Manitoba and Black Ghosts.
For those who know what we’re on about, we randomly selected a winner today and he goes by the name of Matthew Cremona. (At least open a new window to look for him on facebook). Congrats dude, hope you wear your 2 free tees and make us proud! Of course the answer was 14 tees, though we had got some pretty weird answers like 2, 9, 13, and my personal fave, ‘Dude, where is the shop?’
Good times.
