Can’t wait for this one.

This year’s Malta Music Festival will be held on the 25th July at the Montekristo Estates – a venue which is proving to be very popular and appropriate for such events. This year’s headliner artists include Ruby, Mathematikal, Toby and Tenishia. Fat Gold will be present, in body, mind, soul and stand… We will have a stand setup with all our tees and caps (yes, caps) for sale on the night. Our fist cap will be available, exclusively for sale to those of you who meet us there. So bring cash!

In the meantime we are working on releasing new designs and items to the online collection very soon.

So come say hello on Saturday, there will be some freebies…

Sure we only set up shop for a year and a month ago, but to us that means keeping the dream alive… From sketches to tees to stickers to soon to be released caps. We need to celebrate in style and what better way is there to release the 6th Mixtape as our 100th post?

Here’s Oh! Six, mixed by Boy Kills Girl, who also happens to be one of our brave faces.
Download it here and for those who were too drunk and didnt hear the rest of the tapes, just click here

Nice one Tristio.

A couple of weeks ago our own Kenji was busy recording new material with his band, Eve Ransom. They are now supporting their new material with gigs around the island. Last week saw them launch their fifth single on the local radio stations. It’s called ‘Soundtrack to a Smile’ and sees the band in a more mature guise. They performed at the MTV Malta Music week, and the crew from www.bandunion.at filmed parts of the gig, and put parts of the stuff on Youtube, as part of a documentary on the local music scene they are currently working on. This is the vid, and you can check out the new single on myspace.com/everansom

Ahhh, I’m sorry it’s been a while since I’ve posted up something, but I try not to post things unless I think they’re absolute quality. That being said, today I discovered Spanish band ‘Crystal Fighters’, and boy are they quality.

Their latest song ‘Xtatic Truth’ is absolutely crazy. CRAZY! I really like it. It’s a mix of chilled folky vocals with ravish beats. Something about them is just naturally cool, and the fact that they played at a festival called ‘Bukkake’ really interests me.

And if you think that this is cool, check out their myspace, it’s a gold mine.

I’ll be going to the land of Spain myself today for Benicassim so you have at least another 10 days without an update from little ol’ me. But I promise, I’ll come back with loads of goodies to share.

Peace out Gnomies.

Clare.

As the Isle of MTV special came to a close, and the Black Eyed Peas prepared to leave the stage, they very clearly hinted as to where the after party would be held… so as everybody left, I kept wondering who would actually manage to get into the party.

As it happens, Sven, a good friend of ours got to join the band and the overwhelmingly female guest list at the hotel. So in his own words and pictures :

“Towards the end of the performance Will.I.Am gave a shout out about seeing “everyone” at the after party. My friend had heard about it last year when he didn’t attempt to go as he thought it would be too exclusive. With nothing to lose, we took Will.I.Am by his word and made our way down to the hotel. We found ourselves in a thin stream of people who had come to the concert. Then bad news, we looked around and saw many coloured bracelets – which we didn’t have – but we figured we’d just go for it. We entered the hotel as part of these guests, and I suppose we were taken in as such, as we later saw people outside the window being denied access. That felt so bad really good.

We had a drink at the bar and mingled a little with guests and official party invitees alike. Having determined the location of the party, outside near the pool area, we headed down. The last hurdle was an official checking for the wrist tags but another couple of people in front of us did not have any. He muttered something and waved them through anyways. We simply followed. I suppose it wasn’t too busy yet and they didn’t mind the extra people.

Taboo arrived first, cranking up the music and getting the party started. He took advantage of the party masseuses and posed for some pictures with (mostly female) fans. Soon Will.I.Am and the rest of the team arrived, except for Fergie. The band’s DJ took to the decks and gave us an awesome set. He obviously enjoys his music and played for most of the evening.

Fergie joined somewhat later, spending much less time with the fans, who mobbed her a little. At one point she almost ran us over making her way to the buffet area with her security behind her. Since we were in her way, without any security ahead of her (she didn’t need it!), she plowed right through the middle of us. She really is tiny!

We chilled out for the rest of the evening, some took a dive in the pool, but the party never really got busy. Good music was played and a small group danced off on the beach. All in all, very civilized. None of the other stars from the concert made an appearance”

Nice one Sven!
