17 years have passed since Jay Leno took over NBC’s Tonight Show from Johnny Carson. This part of American TV history has come to an end last week as Conan O’Brien takes over. Leno’s usual monologue was always something I would look for on cable, checking if they were airing it on NBC Europe (a day late…) I guess it was him who got me into stand up comedians.

Having said that, being fans of Conan’s wilder style, we can only try an imagine what he’s gonna come up with now…

Here’s some of the funnier stuff that happened on the show… Good riddance Jay and good luck Conan!

Everyone here at Fat Gold loves a good gig, a gig you just stumble upon in the streets of Paris is something few if any can claim to have experienced, but we all envy those who do. Beirut are completely in their element, providing orgasms for the ears of anyone who walks by.

La Blogotheque is now pushing 100 take away shows. Check them all out here if you don’t mind spending a couple of hours unable to stop. Respect to Vincent Moon and all the bands/artists.

If you happen to be in the little (but big on music) island of Malta, hop over tomorrow for Dondisko/TDDR’s ‘The Beat That Shakes the Mothership’ Tour. If you dig our mixtapes you shouldn’t miss Night I of IV.

Dj’s :  Alex Thomson, Boy Kills Girl (the dude that’s trying to strangle my partner in crime J) yours truly (Mathematikal), Squeak and Fat Gold’s Kenji… Ooh what a night.

Rumour has it there’s gonna be a lot of goodies…

Here in Planet Gold we’ve gotsa lot of family, from one eyed cats who think they are dogs, to heavy metal guitarists who listen to Kavinsky and Falke to just plain mental dj’s / designers. One addition to la Famiglia is our disco shaking hair bouncing boyo that will be contributing to the fat blog.

Enough from me, More from him – below.

P.S. More family will be added at the beep so watch out for new faces.

Full Name

Thomas Vassallo

What would your full name be in another life

God

What do you do with your free time?

I now browse the net for interesting things to put on a blog.

If you could choose to be any food, what would it be?

A pineapple. Simply because a Facebook quiz told me so and I wouldn’t dare go against a Facebook quiz.

What are you listening to this second?

We Have Band – Hear It In the Cans (DIY Version)

Fave track of all time

After my head exploded trying to decide I choose, I would have to say have Idioteque of Radiohead.

Do you play any instruments?

Bass guitar and kazoo.

What would you never live without?

Air, food and water.

What would be your dream job?

Erol Alkan’s.

What is your favourite piece of clothing (on the ladies obviously)?

PVC leggings.

The Hair(y) bit

Is that a wig?

A weave, that way when people pull it it doesn’t come off.

Is it heavy? (’I wouldn’t know sorry’ JS)

On its own, no. When taking into consideration the items it accumulates and water it retains…close to 2kg.

Do you get love from the ladies?

I once had to be resuscitated when I drowned in love from the ladies.

Word.

Thommy.

Yep, we love girls and we love robots. I think Royksopp did a good job on combining the two in their new track called… The Girl And the Robot. We can’t get enough of it.
Word.

Whoever follows this blog knows that every month we release The Mixtape. It’s Kenji’s time to give us some fresh and classic tunes on the 1’s and 2’s. I’m not gonna list the songs for now, but if you see the image up there it’ll give you a pretty good idea of what there is on the 45 min tape.

As usual you can download on iTunes here and if you don’t have iTunes and Wilma and Fred are your neighbours hit here

Turn it up to 11.
