Lately I’ve been in Retro mode. Gaming and TV that is… I’ve been playing Super Mario Bros 3 on my old Nintendo NES system, watching episodes of Alf off YouTube, and generally missing the 80’s and 90’s. While looking around on YouTube I came across this vid. Contrary to the title of the video, its actually a summary of how the Nintendo NES brought the video game industry back to life – and not a history of Nintendo. For all you Super Mario fans out there this is a must see. Nintendo had to balls to do it alone even after being turned down by Atari. 25 years or so afterwards, it seems they were right! Oh, and when its done, part 2 is here.
We’ve been working our ass off at the Fat HQ to bring you guys new designs and new accessories / stuff. Like these babies… Fresh badges for you to pin down on your favourite denim jacket or your 90’s duffle bag. They will be appearing shortly in the shop section. There will be 3 sets of 6 badges for you to get. Also our own Kenji has been preparing Mixtape 02 for you guys… If you liked the first one then this one will blow your socks off.
To many of us, Sunday mornings meant no school and faces glued to the TV. They sure don’t make cartoons the same anymore… He-Man would kick Dragonball Z’s ass any day, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would make tofu out of the Power Rangers. The content quality of most of today’s animated shows for kids seems to be inversely proportional to the picture quality – if that’s the case gimme VHS any day!
